Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alain Maxime MacDougall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacDougall shoots and misses and Harris counters into the clinch. Nicely done. A bit of stalling here from Harris.
Harris changes levels and goes for a takedown here. MacDougall fights it off and pushes away nicely.
MacDougall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harris but Harris pushes him off and we're back to square one. Harris defends well against a solid takedown attempt from MacDougall. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alain Maxime MacDougall. That's going to take a lot out of him. MacDougall has his takedown stuffed and Harris counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. MacDougall with a poor takedown and Harris connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Harris shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. MacDougall is trying to control the position but Harris postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacDougall being controlled here, momentarily. Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MacDougall swivels though and keeps the full guard. MacDougall throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Harris stays in close to MacDougall's body and controls the position. MacDougall is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Harris is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. MacDougall looking to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Harris is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. MacDougall looks for a takedown but Harris sprawls well. No luck with that takedown attempt from MacDougall. MacDougall fails with the takedown. MacDougall is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. MacDougall gets caught flat footed, as Harris shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Harris sitting in guard here, content to control. MacDougall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. MacDougall has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Harris has passed into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harris controls the position. MacDougall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Harris dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
MacDougall shoots in but no luck this time. Harris keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Harris throws a counter combo. Harris closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. MacDougall quickly recovers to half guard. MacDougall wants to stand back up but Harris manages to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Harris controlling the position from side mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacDougall can't do much from the bottom here. Harris stands up. MacDougall fails with the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alain Maxime MacDougall. That's going to take a lot out of him. MacDougall looks to land a combination. Harris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris manages to get an easy takedown there - catching MacDougall on his heels. He'll look to pass MacDougall's guard now, I'm sure. MacDougall being controlled here, momentarily. MacDougall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Marcus Harris has got the better of the ground game so far. Harris sitting in guard here, content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Alain Maxime MacDougall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. MacDougall lands a high kick!
It looks like Marcus Harris has been cut. Harris leaves MacDougall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. MacDougall tries to clinch there but Harris circles away.
A nice side step and Harris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. MacDougall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Harris manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. MacDougall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harris fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging MacDougall to the ground. Harris is now in MacDougall's guard. MacDougall is wriggling around but Harris manages to pass to half guard.
MacDougall wants to control but Harris is keeping busy.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harris trying to mount his opponent but MacDougall defends it. Well, if Harris is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Marcus Harris's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
MacDougall is trying hard to land a takedown here. Harris sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. It seemed like Harris was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. MacDougall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Harris throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. MacDougall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Harris is in MacDougall's guard. MacDougall is looking for a triangle here but Harris uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
A lull in the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacDougall is not content to let Harris control the position. Harris remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. More stalling from Harris.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Harris decides to take the fight back to the feet. MacDougall is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Harris throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. MacDougall was covering up waiting for the punch and Harris finishes the takedown easily into guard. Harris showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. MacDougall keeping moving, preventing Harris from controlling successfully. Harris got a little sloppy there for a moment and MacDougall has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harris has managed to get both his arms back between MacDougall's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. MacDougall is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harris is controlling him. MacDougall can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Harris controls the pace. MacDougall has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Marcus Harris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Alain Maxime MacDougall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. MacDougall throws a head kick that Harris semi-blocks.
Alain Maxime MacDougall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Harris gets in close and instigates a clinch.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
