Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, George Bush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Samuel Song!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Song.
Bush trying to remain calm as Song controls from the top position.

Song working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Song is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bush will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Song looks up at the clock and then as Bush takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Song smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Song tries to advance to mount but Bush denies him.

Song is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bush knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Song controls the position from side control.

Bush explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bush keeps the fight on the outside.
Song shoots and misses
and Bush counters with a left to the body.
Samuel Song seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Song shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A counter left hand to the body from Bush misses its target.
Bush stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bush wants it to stay on the feet.
Bush was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
George Bush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Song.
Bush leaves Song with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bush appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Song misses with a takedown
and Bush counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Song dives in for a single leg takedown but Bush sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Song looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bush is fending him off so far but Song persists. Nope, Bush circles away and we're back to standing.
A counter left hand to the body from Bush misses its target.
Song shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bush counters with a right hand to the body.
Song looks winded!

Bush clinches with his opponent.
Song tries to pull guard but Bush won't allow it.
Song tries to break free but Bush pushes him back against the cage.

Bush pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bush moves into the clinch successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bush manages to break the clinch.
Song changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bush tries to avoid it but Song manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bush to the ground. Bush escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bush appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Song tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bush manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Song fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Song misses with a takedown

and Bush counters by moving into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Song can't break the clinch.
Bush misses with a punch to the body.
Bush gets underhooks to prevent Song's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Bush dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Bush defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Song.
Bush went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Bush clinches with his opponent.
Song tries to circle away but Bush has him pinned against the cage.

Bush breaks from the clinch.
Song has his takedown stuffed
and Bush counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Bush gets a clinch.

Bush's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bush forces Song back against the cage and clinches.
Song tries to pull guard but Bush forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Song wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Song looking for a takedown.
Song is trying to pull guard but Bush has him pressed against the cage.
Bush lands a damaging elbow.


It looks like Samuel Song has been cut.
Song tries to score a body lock takedown but Bush shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bush stalls.
Song tries to pull guard but Bush holds him up against the cage and eventually Song drops back down to his feet.
A short body shot lands from Bush as the two fighters clinch.
Bush digs a right hand underneath Song's ribcage. Song let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Song tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Bush manages to break the clinch.
Song falls off balance throwing a combination

and Bush counters with a single leg into guard. Song didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bush trying to control the position from guard on top but Song is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Song is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Bush frees his head nicely. Oh but Song has switched to an armbar! Bush is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Samuel Song!
