Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khamid Osman Durnagoz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Khon Saroth!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saroth shoots in looking for a takedown. Durnagoz tries to sprawl out of it but Saroth keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Durnagoz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Durnagoz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Saroth shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Durnagoz makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Durnagoz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saroth pinned against the cage. Saroth gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Durnagoz shoots for a takedown but Saroth saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Saroth lands a high kick!
Durnagoz shoots in and drives through. Saroth sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khamid Osman Durnagoz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Saroth shoots for a takedown but Durnagoz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Saroth fails with the takedown
and Durnagoz counters by clinching up.
Saroth wants to get back to striking at distance but Durnagoz won't allow it.
Saroth is looking to control Durnagoz's arms but Durnagoz gets an underhook and turns him. Now Saroth has his back to the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Saroth jumps guard but Durnagoz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Durnagoz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Saroth will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Saroth looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Saroth looks winded!
Durnagoz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Saroth.
Durnagoz closes the distance and clinches up with Saroth, looking for a takedown. Durnagoz pushes Saroth against the cage but Saroth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saroth has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Durnagoz finds it's way round the side to connect with Saroth's head.
Durnagoz lands a two punch combo.
Saroth tries for a takedown but Durnagoz circles away easily
and Durnagoz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Durnagoz pulls guard successfully.
Saroth has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Durnagoz to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Saroth is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Durnagoz pulls down on the head and he's put Saroth to sleep! This one is all over!
