PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between David Kickpuncher (ranked 6380 p4p, 566 weight class) and James King (ranked 6248 p4p, 559 weight class). Kickpuncher comes to the ring accompanied by Resolution. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Kickpuncher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James King!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King tries to clinch
and Kickpuncher counters with an outside leg kick.
King throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Kickpuncher counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. King is lucky that one didn't land flush.
We've been informed that King has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kickpuncher counters with a good low kick that King was not able to check.
Kickpuncher thows a body kick. King tries to catch it but that hurt him.
King throws an off balance right hand
and Kickpuncher counters with a thumping low kick.
Kickpuncher keeps King at a distance using the push kick.
King swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kickpuncher makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
James King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King misses with a combination
and Kickpuncher counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kickpuncher throws a nice outside leg kick.
King falls off balance throwing a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kickpuncher throws a head kick that King semi-blocks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King misses with a lunging right hand
and Kickpuncher counters with a body kick that stops King in his tracks momentarily.
Kickpuncher lands with a kick to the ribs.
King looks winded!
King stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kickpuncher.
Kickpuncher lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Kickpuncher connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

King throws a series of punches but Kickpuncher avoids them all with ease.
Kickpuncher throws a front kick that sends King stumbling back into the ropes.
Kickpuncher lands a head kick!
Kickpuncher throws a leg kick which misses King's front leg but catches the back leg as King tries to avoid it.
King throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kickpuncher counters with a nice body kick.
Kickpuncher's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym.
Kickpuncher throws out a loose jab but King uses good head movement to avoid it.
King's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
King misses with a combination
and Kickpuncher counters with a low kick, right behind King 's knee.

and Kickpuncher counters with a flying knee. Nice.
King throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kickpuncher counters with a good low kick that King was not able to check.
Kickpuncher throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kickpuncher cracks the inside of King's front leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King moves to clinch but Kickpuncher breaks away
and Kickpuncher counters with a nice low kick that buckles King's knee momentarily.

King has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Kickpuncher.

King has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kickpuncher.

A nice inside leg kick there by Kickpuncher. That's going to slow King down.
Kickpuncher bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

King walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kickpuncher.
King takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

King on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
King rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kickpuncher finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kickpuncher - that will leave a mark!
Kickpuncher lands a high kick!
Kickpuncher catches King napping and cracks him with a perfect head kick! King goes down! He's bigtime hurt! He's not going to make it back to his feet - the referee has called it off! This one is all over!
