Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Scott Hill (ranked 2112 p4p, 267 weight class) and Jaakko Ilmarinen (ranked 5776 p4p, 536 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hill closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ilmarinen quickly recovers to half guard.

Ilmarinen manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hill keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Hill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ilmarinen cracks Hill with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ilmarinen takes a swing at Hill's ribcage but misses.

Ilmarinen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hill is controlling him.
Hill wants to pass the guard but Ilmarinen is keeping the position.
Hill stops Ilmarinen from standing up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hill is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ilmarinen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hill wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ilmarinen, who protects the arm well.
Hill works to advance to full mount. Ilmarinen defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Ilmarinen wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Hill wants to take his opponent's back but Ilmarinen doesn't allow it.

Hill jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ilmarinen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hill is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ilmarinen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ilmarinen is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Hill is working to tighten his grip on Ilmarinen's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ilmarinen has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hill is really squeezing tight and eventually Ilmarinen passes out! Hill breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Jaakko Ilmarinen was interviewed post fight and said 'Lucky rat I had flu'.
