Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Derwin (ranked 6517 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Harris (ranked 6453 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcus Harris is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robbie Derwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Derwin lands a slapping body shot.
Derwin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Harris is looking to clinch. Derwin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Harris walks into a jab. Derwin misses with the combination.
Derwin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Harris. Harris dodges the punch combination from Derwin.
And Harris tries to counter it with a takedown but Derwin pushes his down on his head and steps out. Harris slips a jab and a cross from Derwin.
Derwin cracks Harris with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Robbie Derwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Derwin misses with a double jab
and Harris counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Derwin is breathing heavily. Harris tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Derwin defends well and Harris ends up having to push Derwin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Derwin misses with a body shot.
Harris tries to counter with a clinch but Derwin shakes him off and moves away. Harris looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Derwin looks to score with a jab to the body but Harris is just out of range. Some wild striking there from Derwin.
Harris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Derwin but Derwin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Robbie Derwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Harris. No luck with that takedown attempt from Harris. Derwin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Harris. An attempted straight right counter from Derwin misses the target. Harris takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Harris shoots in for a takedown but Derwin shows good takedown defense. Derwin thows a left - swing and a miss! Harris tries for a takedown but Derwin circles away easily and Derwin counters with a straight right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Derwin closes the distance and lands a one-two. Derwin throws a hook but Harris avoids it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Harris is defended easily by Derwin. Harris scores with a takedown into Derwin's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Derwin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Harris on the ground. Derwin wants to control but Harris passes easily into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Derwin! Harris working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Derwin looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Harris! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Marcus Harris! After winning the bout, Marcus Harris thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
