Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rexx Howler (ranked 2788 p4p, 285 weight class) and Bleeding Spanner (ranked 3258 p4p, 310 weight class). Bleeding Spanner will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bleeding Spanner!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howler fails with the takedown.
Spanner scores with a leg kick.
Howler tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spanner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've been hearing reports that Howler has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Howler will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Howler takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Howler tries to clinch but Spanner is having none of it.
Nice takedown defense from Spanner. No joy for Howler on that attempt.
And Spanner responds with a good body kick, but Howler manages to step out the way in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Howler doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Spanner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Howler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Spanner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Howler somewhat.
Rexx Howler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Spanner counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Spanner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Spanner follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.

Howler manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Spanner on his heels. He'll look to pass Spanner's guard now, I'm sure.
Howler throws an elbow that misses. Spanner uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Howler's guard. Nice move by Spanner!

Howler wants to sweep but no luck.
Spanner seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Howler has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Spanner has passed into side control.

Spanner tries to move to mount but Howler blocks the move with his legs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Howler is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The strikes coming from Spanner are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Howler manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Howler is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Howler dives in and grabs Spanner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Spanner pushes down on Howler's head and hops out.

Donk. Spanner catches Howler right on the button with a cross.
Howler walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Spanner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Howler if he has to take too many more of those.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Howler drops his hands momentarily and Spanner takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

and Spanner counters with a head kick. That will keep Howler thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Bleeding Spanner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Spanner sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Bleeding Spanner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
