PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick Cleary (ranked 3900 p4p, 414 weight class) and Alen Ohanian (ranked 3208 p4p, 373 weight class). Ohanian has chosen The Eternals - Wrath of Zeus as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cleary dodges the punch combination from Ohanian.
Cleary scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Ohanian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We've been told by Cleary's head coaches at Touch Of Death Combat Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Ohanian does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cleary attempts a counter takedown but Ohanian avoids it well and moves away.

Cleary turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Ohanian chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cleary can pounce on him.

Cleary got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ohanian has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cleary has managed to get both his arms back between Ohanian's legs - danger averted.
