The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker connects with a nice looking jab.

and DeSilva counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Parker is looking for a sweep. DeSilva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

DeSilva is looking for a kimura but Parker is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for DeSilva to get the leverage.
Parker is refusing to be controlled, as DeSilva sits in half guard.
Parker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Parker wants to control but DeSilva is keeping busy.
DeSilva passes the guard and advances to mount!

DeSilva looking to secure an arm triangle but Parker defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parker sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parker is controlling DeSilva's trapped leg to prevent DeSilva from advancing to side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeSilva winds up and cracks Parker with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Parker is looking to improve his position.
DeSilva is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
DeSilva is trying to control the action in half guard but Parker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with DeSilva in particular looking to stall.
DeSilva frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
