Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Hazlehurst (ranked 2993 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Hague (ranked 3394 p4p, 0 weight class). Hazlehurst kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Queen - One Vision. Daniel Hazlehurst has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Hazlehurst! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaun Hague! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hague throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hazlehurst sees it coming and avoids it easily. Hazlehurst closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hague seems a little lost for a moment, as Hazlehurst dominates the positioning. Hazlehurst throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hazlehurst wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hague, who protects the arm well. Hazlehurst in side control, just content to control the action for now. Hazlehurst has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The ground and pound from Hazlehurst seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hazlehurst trying to control the action but Hague is working from the bottom. Hazlehurst tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hague trying to remain calm as Hazlehurst controls from the top position. Hazlehurst sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Hague is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Hazlehurst postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hazlehurst is looking to take a break and control but Hague is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hazlehurst throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Hazlehurst tries to score with some ground and pound. Hague controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hague can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hazlehurst looks up at the clock and then as Hague takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hazlehurst smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hazlehurst throws a strike aimed at the side of Hague's head but Hague avoids it well. Hague is trying to get back to half guard. An elbow from Hazlehurst crashes against the mat.
Hazlehurst tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hague's legs. Hague avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hazlehurst. Hazlehurst connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Hague some visible discomfort.
Hazlehurst trying to control the position but Hague is working away. Hazlehurst working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hazlehurst lands some shots froms side control. Hazlehurst tries for a kimura but Hague is defending well. Hazlehurst is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hague is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hague stops Hazlehurst from passing to mount. Hazlehurst tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hazlehurst has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hazlehurst is looking to take a break and control but Hague is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hazlehurst throwing strikes but missing, from side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hazlehurst is trying to get an arm triangle but Hague is defending well. Hague really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hazlehurst. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hazlehurst tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hazlehurst trying to control the action but Hague is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Hazlehurst dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hazlehurst drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Hazlehurst trying to control but Hague is working from the bottom. Hazlehurst lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hazlehurst works a leg free and moves into half guard. Hazlehurst not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hague has hold of Hazlehurst's hands but Hazlehurst slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hazlehurst lands a nice short elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hague blocking the ground and pound attempt from Hazlehurst. Hazlehurst wants to control but Hague is keeping him busy. Still in half guard, Hazlehurst seems content to control. Hazlehurst is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hague can do to turn this around?
