Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hendry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Hendry could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Takanori Gomi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Hendry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Takanori Gomi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendry gets caught flat footed, as Gomi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hendry had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gomi is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hendry Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gomi's back instead.
Gomi trying to control but not successfully.
Hendry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gomi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hendry gets his way!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hendry wants to control but Gomi is keeping busy.
Gomi rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Hendry is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hendry prevents Gomi from improving his position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Gomi.
Gomi lands a nice forearm strike.
Gomi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hendry is rocked!
Check out the look on Gomi's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Oh Hendry is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gomi scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hendry is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Gomi can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
