Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tim Slater (ranked 1813 p4p, 92 weight class) and Paulie Greene (ranked 1778 p4p, 89 weight class). Paulie Greene will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paulie Greene!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Chris Dean and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene looks to land a body kick but Slater moved away.
Slater is looking to clinch but Greene is avoiding it.
Slater fails with the takedown
and Greene counters with a slapping leg kick.
Greene lands with a cross.
Slater chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Greene can pounce on him.

Slater manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Greene on his heels. He'll look to pass Greene's guard now, I'm sure.
Greene wants to stand up but Slater is controlling him.
Greene managing to control the position.
Slater wants to control from the top but Greene keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greene wants to get back to his feet but Slater is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Greene stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Greene scoring well with a low kick there.
Greene swings for the body but Slater moves out of range.
Greene throws a head kick but Slater moves out of range.
Slater wants to clinch up but Greene keeps it at a distance.
Slater takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Greene attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Slater tries to clinch up but Greene circles away and keeps his distance.

Slater is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Despite the aggression on Greene's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Greene chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Greene throws the left hand but Slater avoids the punch easily.
Slater tried to counter with a leg kick but Greene avoided it.

Slater clinches up with Greene and pushes him back against the cage.

Slater jumps into guard, dragging Greene to the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Greene would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Slater is looking to sweep but instead, Greene has passed into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slater gets back to full guard.
Greene has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Slater is proving hard to escape from.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Greene is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Greene ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Slater moves away.
Greene avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Greene throws a lazy right hand but Slater sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Greene with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Greene has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Greene keeps the fight on the outside.

Greene throws the kick towards the body but Slater avoids it.
Greene feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Slaters jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Slater tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Greene paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Slater takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Greene scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Greene throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Slater looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Slater wants to pass the guard but Greene is keeping the position.

Slater won't allow Greene to get back to his feet.
Greene has Slater pulled in close to control his posture.
Slater stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Greene swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slater advances to half guard.
Slater stops Greene from getting back to his feet.
Greene won't allow Slater to pass to mount.
Greene felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Slater tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Greene smiles and moves away.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Greene.
Greene scores with a shoulder strike.
Greene can't find room to land a body shot as Slater controls the action.

Slater pulls guard successfully.

Slater looking to hit a scissor sweep but Greene is one step ahead there.

Slater looking for subs off his back but Greene has passed one foot through into half guard.
Greene wants to stand up but Slater has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Slater tries to roll over but Greene keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulie Greene showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Slater swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Slater closes the distance but Greene moves to the side
enabling Greene to counter with a crisp jab.
Greene swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Greene lets loose with a powerful body kick. Slater will feel that in the morning.
Greene throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Slater checks the leg kick nicely there.
Slater tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Greene cracks the inside of Slater's front leg.
Greene throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Slater attempts a counter takedown but Greene avoids it well and moves away.
Greene throws a one two combo.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Greene, right into the meat.
Greene buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Greene works over Slater's head and body with a nice combination.
Greene throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Slater tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Greene manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Greene misses with a low kick.
Greene connects with a looping right hand.
Slater wants to clinch up but Greene keeps it at a distance.
Greene rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slater moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A little feinted left hand from Slater on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Greene misses with a hook. Slater ducked under it nicely.
Greene pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Slater back to the cage. Greene follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


Slater is rocked!
Paulie Greene is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Slater chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Greene can pounce on him.
Oh Slater is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Greene keeps Slater at a distance using the push kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Slater walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Greene! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
