Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Brown (ranked 6715 p4p, 440 weight class) and Marlin Scars (ranked 5211 p4p, 410 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Brown might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hate me now by nas. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Brown! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marlin Scars! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scars has taken the fight to the clinch.
Brown is trying to pull guard but Scars has him pressed against the cage. Scars unloads a knee to the mid-section. Brown lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Brown is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Brown is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Scars can't fight it off and eventually Brown manages to take the fight to the floor. Scars looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Scars kicks Brown off and gets to his feet. Scars shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one. Scars shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brown looking to hit a scissor sweep but Scars is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scars avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brown throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Brown bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Scars's guard.
Brown might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Scars keeping full guard, as Brown tries to pass. Scars really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Scars is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Scars looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Brown stands and throws Scars's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Brown trying to control the position but Scars is working away. Scars tries to get back to half guard but can't. Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Scars keeps working. Brown looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Brown misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Brown is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Scars is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Scars tries to buck Brown off but Brown is having none of it. Brown is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Scars's shoulder. That is not cool. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scars can't do much from the bottom here. Brown is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Scars has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scars tries to get back to half guard but can't. Brown wants to take a breather but Scars manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Brown. Brown forces his way into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Scars misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Brown is trying for a kimura here. Scars looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Brown wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jay Brown! Jay Brown decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
