Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pierre Dux (ranked 4062 p4p, 407 weight class) and Oliver Pickering (ranked 4580 p4p, 439 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Pierre Dux! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Pickering! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dux shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pickering as he avoids it easily. Pickering changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dux looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dux takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Pickering decides to stand back up. Pickering steps back and let's Dux get back to his feet. Dux shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pickering but Pickering pushes him off and we're back to square one. Pickering has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Dux is landing a low percentage of strikes. Dux tries to sprawl but Pickering drives through with a takedown into half guard. Pickering tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Dux wants to get back to his feet.
Pickering is trying to control the action in half guard but Dux is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pickering prevents Dux from standing back up.
Pickering has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pickering is looking for a kimura here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pickering lands strikes from half guard. Dux is not content to let Pickering control the position. Well, if Pickering is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Pickering wants to free his trapped foot but Dux is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dux wants to get back to his feet. Dux is not content to let Pickering control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dux tries to kick Pickering off but Pickering keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Pickering wants to take a breather but Dux is having none of it. Pickering wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Dux looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Horrible takedown attempt by Pickering or perhaps it was just good defense by Dux, which made it look bad. Dux shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Pierre Dux. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pickering shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dux defends it nicely. Dux shoots in looking for a takedown. Pickering tries to sprawl out of it but Dux keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pickering manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pickering swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Dux shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pickering as he avoids it easily. Pickering closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Dux tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Dux is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pickering tries to keep control of the position but Dux is staying busy. Pickering is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Pickering gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Pickering gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Pickering apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Pickering fails to land the takedown. Dux throws a head kick but Pickering moves out of range.
Pickering bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Pickering trying to control the action but Dux is working from the bottom. Dux is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pickering asserts his dominance and retains side control. Dux wants to get back to his feet but Pickering is dominant here and he's now got Dux's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pickering is looking for the choke from the back position but Dux is controlling his hands well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dux staying busy and making it hard for Pickering to control. Dux wants to get back to his feet. Well, with Pickering on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Dux is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Pickering has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Dux is defending well but eventually Pickering manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Dux has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Oliver Pickering!
