Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Idris Onolunose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Hooper!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onolunose lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hooper takes a step back to recover.
Hooper scores with a head kick. Onolunose tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
No luck for Hooper with that takedown attempt.

Hooper gets caught napping as Onolunose dives in and scores a takedown. Hooper manages to retain guard.
Onolunose showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Onolunose's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onolunose with a flurry of punches that miss.

Onolunose avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Onolunose throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hooper keeping moving, preventing Onolunose from controlling successfully.
Onolunose sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hooper's guard.
Hooper trying to control from the bottom.
Hooper is trying to get back to full guard.
Onolunose is controlling the pace.
Hooper blocking the ground and pound attempt from Onolunose.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Onolunose tries to pass to full mount but Hooper defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Onolunose takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Onolunose instigates a clinch.
Hooper on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Onolunose's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Onolunose changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hooper looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hooper tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Onolunose controls the action.
Hooper is trying to break free.
Onolunose has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Hooper's body.

Onolunose is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Hooper has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Onolunose has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Hooper taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Onolunose doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Idris Onolunose!
