Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Gustafsson (ranked 1796 p4p, 230 weight class) and Peter Woodcock (ranked 1408 p4p, 182 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Simon Gustafsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Peter Woodcock!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodcock feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gustafsson's calf.
Gustafsson moves in looking to clinch but Woodcock pushes him off.
No joy there for Woodcock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Woodcock pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gustafsson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Woodcock's waist but Woodcock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gustafsson off to one side.
We've been hearing reports that Gustafsson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Woodcock can't escape the position.
Woodcock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gustafsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gustafsson unloads with some shots from mount but Woodcock bucks and avoids them well.

Gustafsson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Woodcock knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Woodcock for a finish.
Woodcock is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gustafsson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
