PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Fred Fisher (ranked 24001 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Hytche (ranked 5009 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hytche's choice of entrance music: sleep walkn. Greg Hytche has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fred Fisher's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Hytche!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Fisher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hytche is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Hytche slips a straight right by Fisher.
Hytche changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Fisher fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hytche manages to avoid it.
Fisher throws a sloppy head kick

and Hytche counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hytche.
Hytche is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hytche passes into half guard.
Hytche takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fisher flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hytche keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Fisher is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hytche sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fisher throws a head kick but Hytche moves out of range.
Hytche is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Hytche blocks the body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fisher scores with a jab.
Fisher tries a head kick but it misses.
A little jabbing left from Hytche on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Hytche gets the takedown into side control.
Hytche controls the position.
It looks like Hytche might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Fisher wants to control but Hytche postures up.
Fisher being controlled for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Hytche dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Hytche decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hytche has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Hytche is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hytche controlling the position easily from mount.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Hytche has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Greg Hytche has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hytche's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Fisher really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hytche tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fisher might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
More stalling from Hytche.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hytche with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Hytche.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fisher is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Hytche controlling the position easily from mount.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Hytche showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Hytche closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fisher quickly recovers to half guard.

Hytche is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Fisher is trying to get back to full guard.

Yet more stalling tactics from Hytche.

Hytche is nestled in close to Fisher, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hytche passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fisher!

Fisher is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hytche is continuing to stall.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

And that's the end of the fight!
Greg Hytche comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hytche winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Greg Hytche decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
