Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kai Kasem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kai Kasem could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to David Johnson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kai Kasem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Johnson! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab-cross combination lands for Kasem and sends Johnson crashing to the mat! Kasem follows him down to the mat - Johnson regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Johnson is rocked!
It looks like David Johnson has been cut. Kasem tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Johnson is still in real trouble! Can Kasem finish him? Johnson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kasem scoring with strikes to the body and head. Johnson seems to have recovered his senses. Kasem throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. That's one minute gone in the round. Kasem throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kasem stands up and waves to Johnson to follow him. Johnson scores a takedown into full mount! Johnson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Kasem flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Kasem is trying desperately to improve position. Johnson won't let Kasem get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kasem has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson looks gassed! Kasem is in all sorts of trouble here.
Kasem wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. Kasem is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kasem keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Johnson looking for a guillotine from mount but Kasem is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kasem is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kasem tries to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. Johnson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kasem really wants to buck Johnson off and get back to his feet. Johnson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kasem manages to avoid the submission attempt. Kasem is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kasem tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kasem tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg. Kasem is trying to stand back up but Johnson is controlling him

Kai Kasem dominated that round. The cut man is working on David Johnson's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Johnson eventually gives up the hold. Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kasem doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson. Johnson is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kasem is pressing down on Johnson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kasem wants to get back to his feet but Johnson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Kasem tries to strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kasem is looking to stand up but Johnson isn't so interested in that idea. Kasem kicks Johnson off and gets to his feet. Kasem lands a high kick!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kasem as he jumps to the side. A head kick misses from Kasem. Johnson ducks right into an uppercut from Kasem. Kasem misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Johnson avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kasem lands a head kick!

Johnson moves out of range of the body kick. Johnson avoids a kick to the body.
Kai Kasem is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnson avoids the body shot from Kasem.
Kasem throws out a leg kick but Johnson moves out of range and Kasem only half commits. A head kick misses from Kasem. Kasem misses with a few strikes there.
Kasem throws a right and a left that both miss. Kasem misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Johnson avoids a kick to the body.

Kai Kasem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Kasem. Johnson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kasem keeps working. Johnson wants to pass to mount but Kasem is defending the position. Kasem trying to control but Johnson postures up.
Johnson moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Kasem.

A bone on bone clash there as Johnson blocks the leg kick.
Kasem uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Johnson has time to react. Johnson moves out of range of the strikes. Kasem waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Johnson. Johnson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Johnson wants to clinch. Kasem just misses with a punch to the body.
Kasem plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Kasem throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Johnson's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kasem paws at him with a jab and circles away. A left and a right from Johnson both land. Nice combination. Kasem lands an overhand right. Kasem tries a head kick but it misses.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown. Kasem fights it but they end up in guard. Kasem wants to improve his position but instead Johnson has moved into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Johnson working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kasem is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kasem is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Kasem tries to control the position but Johnson now has his back.
Kasem manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Johnson is now in side control. Kasem parries the strikes from Johnson easily there. Johnson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kasem to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Johnson is trying to get an arm triangle but Kasem is defending well. Kasem is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Johnson is controlling him well. Johnson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kasem has escaped the position, nice work there. Kasem is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kasem manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Kai Kasem is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kasem escapes and gets back to his feet. David Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kasem connects with a high kick. Kasem throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Kasem tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kasem plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kasem throws a quick inside leg kick. Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kasem.
And that's the end of the fight! Kai Kasem showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kasem, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
