Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jianabule Ahezhuole (ranked 3717 p4p, 382 weight class) and Abul Khayr Belabed (ranked 6380 p4p, 492 weight class). Abul Khayr Belabed acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jianabule Ahezhuole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abul Khayr Belabed! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ahezhuole wants to clinch. Belabed changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Ahezhuole closes the distance and clinches up with Belabed, looking for a takedown. Ahezhuole pushes Belabed against the cage but Belabed circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ahezhuole checks the leg kick nicely there.
Jianabule Ahezhuole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belabed stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Belabed wants it to stay on the feet. We've been told by Ahezhuole's head coaches at Cozad MMA New York that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Ahezhuole connects with a high kick. Ahezhuole tries to sprawl but Belabed drives through with a takedown into half guard. Belabed works his foot free and advances to mount. Ahezhuole tries to hold on but Belabed pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belabed tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Belabed scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Belabed prevents Ahezhuole from getting the reversal. Belabed controlling from mount. Ahezhuole tries to reverse the position but Belabed maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belabed controlling his opponent. Ahezhuole is looking to improve his position but Belabed isn't that keen on the idea. Ahezhuole tries to hold on but Belabed pushes him away. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Belabed working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Belabed controlling the position easily from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ahezhuole looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Belabed is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
It looks like Belabed might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Ahezhuole trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Belabed controls the position. Belabed avoiding Ahezhuole 's attempts to control his hands. Ahezhuole is trying to get back to his feet but Belabed has full control of the position and if anything, Ahezhuole has just worked his way into a worse spot. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Belabed is continuing to stall.
That's six minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Belabed is not going to allow Ahezhuole to sit and survive in this position.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Belabed trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Ahezhuole doesn't escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Belabed punches Ahezhuole on the ear. Belabed looking for the RNC. Ahezhuole trying to control the position but Belabed manages to sink in the hooks. A bit of a pause in the action here. Belabed controlling the positon.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Belabed softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Belabed is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Belabed keeps control of the position as Ahezhuole tries to break free.
Belabed punches Ahezhuole on the ear.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Ahezhuole trying to control the position but Belabed manages to sink in the hooks. Belabed controlling the position well here. Ahezhuole rolled but Belabed kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Belabed has the hooks in. Ahezhuole is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Belabed gets his hands free as Ahezhuole looks to control. Belabed biding his time, controlling Ahezhuole. Belabed looking to break Ahezhuole's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Ahezhuole remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Belabed will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Abul Khayr Belabed dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Ahezhuole tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Belabed is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Belabed fails with the takedown. Ahezhuole shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Belabed sprawls well. Belabed wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ahezhuole gets slowly back to his feet. Ahezhuole tries to clinch there but Belabed circles away.
No luck for Ahezhuole with that takedown attempt. Belabed feints the counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horrible takedown attempt by Belabed or perhaps it was just good defense by Ahezhuole, which made it look bad. Belabed gets the takedown into side control. Ahezhuole wants to get back to his feet but Belabed is dominant here and he's now got Ahezhuole's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Belabed lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Ahezhuole hold on?!
Belabed really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Ahezhuole. Ahezhuole looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ahezhuole can't escape the position.
Belabed keeps control of the position easily here as Ahezhuole tries to buck him off.

Good control from Belabed. Belabed has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ahezhuole wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ahezhuole is trying to defend against the choke here but Belabed has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Belabed Tightens the hold and Ahezhuole taps out furiously! Belabed displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Abul Khayr Belabed!
