Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Morris!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Graves. Morris does a little dance to reset his feet.
Morris cracks Graves with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Graves looks to land a left hand but Morris moved out of range nicely.

Graves has managed to clinch.
Morris gets through Graves's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Graves trying to stall but Morris improves his position.
Graves's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Graves struggles to land a body shot inside as Morris controls his hands.
Graves lands with a short shot to the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Graves throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Graves makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Graves's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Graves cracks a nice hook into Morris's ribs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morris finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Graves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Morris tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Graves tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Graves advances nicely into full mount.
Graves looking to control but Morris is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Morris has given up his back here. Will Graves look for the submission or keep pounding away?
Well, with Graves on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Morris is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Morris is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Despite being in a bad position, Morris is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts.

Graves controlling the position well here. Morris rolled but Graves kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Graves is working for a rear naked choke. Morris is not defending it well and Graves has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Morris refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Morris's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
