Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Junior Iron (ranked 3290 p4p, 385 weight class) and Steven Kennedy (ranked 2877 p4p, 346 weight class). Steven Kennedy has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Junior Iron's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Junior Iron! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steven Kennedy! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Iron throws a shot from downtown. Kennedy moves away and avoids it. Kennedy appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Iron ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kennedy moves away. A countering left hand to the body from Kennedy misses. Iron lands an overhand right. Iron looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A lazy left from Iron finds it's target. Iron keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Kennedy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Iron manages to avoid it. Kennedy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. A head kick misses from Kennedy. Iron moves into range and connects with a jab. Kennedy needs to keep his hands up - Iron had a free shot at his head there. Iron throws a looping overhand right but Kennedy ducks down to avoid it. Iron scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Iron connects with a solid leg kick. Iron throws an off balance right hand
and Kennedy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Iron thinking. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Iron throws a combination. Kennedy tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kennedy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. No joy there for Iron, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've been informed that Kennedy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Junior Iron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A big right from Iron misses. Kennedy flicks out a counter leg kick but Iron steps away. Kennedy misses with an uppercut
and Iron cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round. Iron lands a nice hook to Kennedy's body. Kennedy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A shot to the liver by Iron. Beautiful body shot. Iron lands a lovely overhand right. Kennedy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. A bone on bone clash there as Iron blocks the leg kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from Iron. Kennedy does a little dance to reset his feet. Kennedy is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Iron rather than just go for the knockout. Good standup being displayed there by Iron as he connects with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Iron scores with a three punch combo!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Donk. Iron catches Kennedy right on the button with a cross. Iron misses with a hook. Kennedy ducked under it nicely. Kennedy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Iron defends well and Kennedy ends up having to push Iron into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Iron takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Kennedy moves in looking to clinch but Iron pushes him off. Iron swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Iron throws a right and a left that Kennedy avoids nicely. Iron throws a head kick but Kennedy moves out of range.
A cross from Kennedy lands. An inside leg kick from Iron misses. It seemed like Kennedy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Kennedy gets the takedown into side control. Iron is looking for a sweep. Kennedy is looking to take a break and control but Iron is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kennedy slows the pace down. Kennedy is trying to get an arm triangle but Iron is defending well. Iron is looking for a sweep. Iron looking for a sweep but Kennedy has passed into full mount! Oh no! Iron is trying desperately to improve position. Kennedy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Iron is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kennedy keeping moving, preventing Iron from controlling successfully. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Iron accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kennedy keeping moving, preventing Iron from controlling successfully. Iron loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Kennedy wants to sweep here but Iron controlling him for the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Junior Iron dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kennedy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Iron throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kennedy. Iron clobbers Kennedy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Iron swings for the body but Kennedy moves out of range.
Iron lands with a nice body punch. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Iron, as that shot connected.
Kennedy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kennedy changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. An inside leg kick lands from Iron. Junior Iron is winning the standup battle so far. Iron wants to slow Kennedy down by chopping away at his legs. Iron sets himself, and Kennedy steps forward looking for the clinch! Iron avoids it this time. Iron throws a shot to the body.
Kennedy moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Iron lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kennedy on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kennedy is looking to chop away at Iron's legs. Iron scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Junior Iron is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Iron misses with a right hand and Kennedy counters with a nice low kick that buckles Iron's knee momentarily. A telegraphed right hand from Iron misses the target. As Iron backs off Kennedy throws a huge counter combo but Iron manages to avoid it all.

and Kennedy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Iron takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Iron throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kennedy. Kennedy moves out of range as Iron strikes. Kennedy appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Good leg kick by Iron there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Iron throws a leg kick and Kennedy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A chopping leg kick lands by Iron. Kennedy shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Iron napping and manages to drive through into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Kennedy tries for a kimura but Iron is defending well. Iron can't do much from the bottom here.

Iron tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kennedy presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Iron has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Kennedy's lack of action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Iron wants to improve his position but Kennedy is controlling well.
Kennedy is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kennedy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Iron is trying to get back to full guard. Iron wants to control but Kennedy is keeping busy and won't allow it. Iron avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kennedy. Iron gets back to full guard.
Iron is looking to stand up but Kennedy isn't so interested in that idea. Iron had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kennedy defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Iron manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kennedy manages to get himself to full guard.
Iron is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kennedy can do to turn this around? Iron lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Kennedy wants to sweep but no luck. Kennedy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Kennedy trying to keep a closed guard but Iron is proving a slippery customer.

Kennedy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Iron gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Junior Iron dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kennedy's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Iron scores with a jab to the jaw. Iron displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Kennedy throws a front kick aimed at Iron's knee but Iron avoids it well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Iron connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kennedy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Iron.
Kennedy tries to close the distance and clinch but Iron swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Iron is looking to counter punch. Iron catches Kennedy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Iron controls Kennedy momentarily but Kennedy frees himself. Kennedy advances position into side control! Kennedy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Iron is trying to control Kennedy's posture but Kennedy avoids it. Junior Iron is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Iron isn't going anywhere. Kennedy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Iron keeps working. Steven Kennedy has got the better of the ground game so far. Kennedy throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Iron works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Kennedy looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kennedy missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kennedy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Iron does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Steven Kennedy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Iron is looking to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Junior Iron showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Iron, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Junior Iron! Junior Iron decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
