Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, King Mejia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chiodos Atreyu! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Mejia. Mejia went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Mejia on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
It looks like King Mejia has been cut. Mejia avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mejia is looking for a counter combo. Mejia slips a jab and a cross from Atreyu.
Mejia seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Atreyu throws a right hand that misses
and Mejia connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Mejia is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Atreyu's half guard. Atreyu looks like he's trying to stand up.
Atreyu is looking to get back to is feet but Mejia passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Atreyu tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. You get the feeling that Atreyu really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Atreyu is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Mejia looking to finish Atreyu with some ground and pound. This is bad for Atreyu! BOOM! Mejia connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Atreyu wants to try and get back to his feet. Mejia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Atreyu looks winded! Mejia wants to take Atreyu's back here but Atreyu is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mejia unloading with bombs! Mejia lands a couple of good shots and Atreyu has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Atreyu is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Mejia slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Mejia punishes Atreyu with strikes from the back mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mejia connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Atreyu to escape the position.
Atreyu is trying to get back to his feet but Mejia has full control of the position and if anything, Atreyu has just worked his way into a worse spot. Atreyu manages to escape to his feet. Chiodos Atreyu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mejia shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Atreyu defends it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atreyu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mejia sees it coming and avoids it easily. Mejia seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Atreyu misses with a left hand and Mejia counters with a three punch combo that has Atreyu backing up. Atreyu nods at Mejia to acknowledge the strikes. Mejia wants to clinch up but Atreyu keeps it at a distance. Atreyu gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mejia to score an easy takedown into full guard. Atreyu is wriggling around but Mejia manages to pass to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Atreyu tries to kick Mejia off in order to stand up. Mejia Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Mejia grinds an elbow into Atreyu's temple. Mejia lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Atreyu wants to get back to his feet but Mejia is dominant here and he's now got Atreyu's back! Mejia is punishing Atreyu with some ground and pound. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mejia lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Atreyu is trying to get back to his feet but Mejia has full control of the position and if anything, Atreyu has just worked his way into a worse spot. Mejia landing with strikes. King Mejia dominated that round. The cut man is working on King Mejia's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Atreyu misses with a right hand and Mejia counters with a left and a right that stings Atreyu. Mejia walks into a stiff left hand from Atreyu. Atreyu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mejia. Chiodos Atreyu seems to be getting the better of the standup. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Atreyu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mejia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Atreyu can do to turn this around? Atreyu lands a lovely overhand right. Atreyu is breathing heavily. No joy there for Atreyu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters circle momentarily. Atreyu darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Mejia shoots in for a double leg but Atreyu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Atreyu looks like he wants to counter punch here. Atreyu stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for King Mejia. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mejia takes one to the side of the head.

Atreyu might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Atreyu misses with an uppercut. Mejia saw that one coming. Mejia uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Atreyu. Mejia went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Mejia is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Atreyu. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Atreyu lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Mejia counters with a series of strikes. Atreyu will be more careful next time no doubt. Atreyu getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Atreyu misses with a straight right. Mejia fails with the takedown and Atreyu counters with a straight right hand. Atreyu misses with a hook. Atreyu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atreyu working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Mejia has momentary wrist control but Atreyu slips an elbow through the middle. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mejia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Atreyu's guard. Atreyu wants to stand and escape but Mejia is having none of it. Atreyu is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mejia dives into side control.
Mejia in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Atreyu wants to get back to his feet but Mejia drags him back down. King Mejia overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Atreyu is looking to get back to his feet here but Mejia is keeping cool and he's managed to take Atreyu's back. Mejia lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Atreyu hold on?!

Chiodos Atreyu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on King Mejia's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Atreyu stalks Mejia and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mejia's face. Mejia staggers backwards, shaken. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Atreyu throws an overhand right that lands on Mejia's shoulder, as Mejia tries to avoid the shot. Atreyu displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mejia.

Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Mejia throws a head kick that misses. Mejia ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Atreyu misses with a low kick. Atreyu moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Atreyu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mejia back to the cage. Atreyu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Atreyu connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Atreyu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Mejia tries to close the distance and clinch up but Atreyu swats him away and circles back towards the center. Atreyu misses with a double jab.
Mejia takes the fight into the clinch. Atreyu wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
And that's the end of the fight! Chiodos Atreyu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Atreyu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
