Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdul Hakim Bafawuse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Seung Woo Kim!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kim shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kim showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bafawuse tries to get to full guard but Kim has control of the leg.

Kim decides to stand up.
Kim on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kim is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bafawuse's half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kim decides to stand and escape the position.
Bafawuse misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Abdul Hakim Bafawuse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim tries to clinch there but Bafawuse circles away.

Kim scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Bafawuse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bafawuse tries to get out of the position.

Bafawuse is not content to let Kim control the position.
Kim throws a strike aimed at the side of Bafawuse's head but Bafawuse avoids it well.
Bafawuse is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kim wants to control but Bafawuse is keeping him busy.
Kim fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bafawuse tries to buck Kim off but Kim is having none of it.
Kim landing a few strikes.
Bafawuse bucks up and tries to throw Kim off but instead Kim has got his back!
Kim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bafawuse wants to get back to his feet.
I really don't envy Bafawuse right now.
Kim scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Kim thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Bafawuse is trying to get to his feet but he's left his neck exposed and Kim manages to sink in a rear naked choke! Great counter grappling by Kim!
