Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brutalis Rhino (ranked 5483 p4p, 489 weight class) and Conor McGregor (ranked 7348 p4p, 539 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Brutalis Rhino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conor McGregor!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGregor closes the distance and pushes Rhino back into the ropes.
Rhino wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
McGregor can't get the takedown.
Rhino is trying to push McGregor away but McGregor has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
We've been hearing reports that Rhino has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

McGregor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rhino tests McGregor's chin there with a solid looking shot.
McGregor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rhino.
Rhino needs to keep his hands up - McGregor had a free shot at his head there.

Rhino drives through with a takedown into guard.
McGregor has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Rhino stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGregor swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rhino knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGregor on the ground.

McGregor looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rhino is one step ahead there.

Rhino drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rhino jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rhino wants to control from the top but McGregor keeps moving.
Rhino is looking to stand up but McGregor won't let him.
McGregor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Rhino postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McGregor is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rhino, into his guard.

Rhino escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGregor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rhino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGregor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGregor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rhino really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rhino escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGregor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rhino is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McGregor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McGregor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McGregor wants to control from the top but Rhino keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rhino on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McGregor. McGregor obviously looking to wear him down.

McGregor wants to stand and escape but Rhino is having none of it.
McGregor wants to sweep but no luck.
McGregor is pulling down on Rhino's head to control his posture.

Rhino tries to free his leg and advance position but McGregor is retaining full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McGregor wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Rhino drops back looking for a leg! McGregor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McGregor manages to kick Rhino off! Rhino jumps back into McGregor's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Rhino postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McGregor is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rhino, into his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Conor McGregor will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rhino with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A combination from McGregor does no damage.
Nice uppercut there from Rhino.


It looks like Conor McGregor has been cut.

McGregor has managed to clinch.
McGregor lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

McGregor jumps into guard, dragging Rhino to the mat.
Rhino stops McGregor from standing up.
McGregor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
McGregor is trying to keep Rhino in close.

Rhino has gone for a leg lock! McGregor slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rhino's guard.


McGregor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rhino has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McGregor has managed to get both his arms back between Rhino's legs - danger averted.

Rhino is looking for a triangle but McGregor pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McGregor is looking to work some ground and pound but Rhino has wrist control.

Rhino is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! McGregor has his hands clasped together but Rhino extends and breaks McGregor's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Rhino.
