PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cedrick Dudley (ranked 5089 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cattag Dogmock (ranked 7003 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Cattag Dogmock was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cedrick Dudley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cattag Dogmock!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dogmock closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Dudley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dogmock smiles and moves away.
Dudley swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dogmock makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Cedrick Dudley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dogmock misses the shot to the body.
Dudley went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A combination from Dudley does no damage.
Dogmock appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Dogmock closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dogmock lands in his opponent's guard.
Dudley is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dudley wants to sweep but no luck.

Dudley looking to control.
Dudley is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Dogmock is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Dudley wants to stand and escape but Dogmock is having none of it.
Dudley really is a fat lump.
Dogmock would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dudley looking to control but Dogmock passes into half guard.

Dogmock stands up from half guard.
Dudley swats away the attempt to clinch by Dogmock.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dogmock wants to clinch up but Dudley keeps it at a distance.
Dudley fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Dogmock gets a clinch.
Dudley tries to pull guard but Dogmock won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cedrick Dudley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dudley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dogmock walks away with a smile on his face. Dudley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dogmock darts in and clinches Dudley up against the cage.

Dudley ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dudley no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Dogmock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dudley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dudley wants to stand up but Dogmock is controlling him.

Dogmock stands up from Dudley's guard - Dogmock perhaps looking for a knockout.

Dudley rushes Dogmock and presses him up against the cage.

Dogmock is pressed up against the cage. Dudley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dogmock down to the mat. Dogmock avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dogmock shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dudley napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dudley can't do much from the bottom here.
Dudley tries to buck Dogmock off but Dogmock is having none of it.
Dudley is breathing heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dudley can't do much from the bottom here.
Dudley is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cattag Dogmock dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Dudley tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Dogmock counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Dudley shoots for a takedown but Dogmock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dogmock is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Dudley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dogmock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dogmock moves into the clinch successfully.
Dudley fails to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dogmock tries to land knees in the clinch but Dudley avoids the damage to the body.

Dudley gets control of Dogmock's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dudley will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Dudley is striking from the bottom but Dogmock uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Well, if Dogmock is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Dogmock stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dudley to get to his feet.

Dogmock clinches.
Dogmock lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Dudley or not.
Dudley misses with a knee strike.

Dudley wants the takedown. Dogmock is fighting it off but Dudley persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dogmock's guard against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dogmock is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dudley is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dudley throws a big elbow that misses.
Dudley won't allow Dogmock to get back to his feet.
Dudley content to stall in guard here.
Dudley throws an elbow that misses. Dogmock uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dudley's guard. Nice move by Dogmock!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dudley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dudley throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Dudley will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Dogmock postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Dogmock has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dudley trying to stall but Dogmock improves his position.
Dudley jumps guard but Dogmock stands there with Dudley around his waist. Dudley gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cedrick Dudley. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dudley takes a knee to the side of the body.

Dogmock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dogmock shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dudley as he jumps to the side.

Dogmock forces Dudley back against the cage and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dudley jumps guard but Dogmock turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Dogmock is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dudley is defending well for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cattag Dogmock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Dogmock takes the fight into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dudley takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Dudley has had enough of the clinch but Dogmock keeps him there for the moment.
Dudley tries to pull guard but Dogmock forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Dudley is looking to break free of the clinch but Dogmock has double underhooks.
Dudley tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dogmock smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dogmock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dudley, pushing him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dogmock prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cedrick Dudley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dudley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dogmock pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dogmock fails in his attempt to clinch.
Dudley is looking for a counter combo.
Dogmock shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dudley pinned against the cage. Dudley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Dogmock moves into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dudley has Dogmock pressed against the cage.
Dudley is looking to control Dogmock's arms but Dogmock gets an underhook and turns him. Now Dudley has his back to the cage.
Dudley is working for takedown but Dogmock is calmly controlling the position for now.

Dogmock manages to break the clinch.
Dogmock wants to clinch up but Dudley keeps it at a distance.
Dogmock fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dogmock shoots in looking for a takedown but Dudley manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dogmock's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Dudley tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dogmock appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Dogmock wants to clinch.
Dudley looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Dogmock doesn't manage to clinch there - Dudley circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Dogmock gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Dudley prevents a body shot from Dogmock.
Dudley prevents the takedown attempt.
Dogmock tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Dudley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dudley throws a right and a left that Dogmock avoids nicely.
Dogmock doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Cattag Dogmock is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Dudley stalks Dogmock and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dogmock's face. Dogmock staggers backwards, shaken.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dogmock moves in looking to clinch but Dudley pushes him off.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cedrick Dudley.
I think Dogmock has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
