The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thistlewhite staying out of range there.
Thistlewhite needs to keep his hands up - Baroni had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Ignatius Thistlewhite has been cut.

Baroni gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Thistlewhite to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Thistlewhite has gone for a leg lock! Baroni slips out almost immediately though and dives into Thistlewhite's guard.

Baroni would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Thistlewhite had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Baroni defends it easily.
Thistlewhite will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baroni stays in close to Thistlewhite's body and controls the position.

Thistlewhite escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Baroni gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Thistlewhite working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baroni doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baroni manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Baroni postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Thistlewhite is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Baroni gets to his feet. Thistlewhite looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Baroni throws a nice outside leg kick.
Thistlewhite avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thistlewhite half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Thistlewhite has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Baroni misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thistlewhite closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baroni circles away.
Baroni throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Thistlewhite throws a jab when Baroni was well out of range.
Thistlewhite misses the shot to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Baroni darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Baroni slaps away a takedown attempt from Thistlewhite, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Baroni is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Baroni gets tackled into the cage by Thistlewhite. Thistlewhite maintains the clinch.
Baroni lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Thistlewhite is trying to break the clinch but Baroni has him pressed against the cage.
Baroni lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Thistlewhite throws a head punch that misses.

Baroni pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice sprawl there from Baroni as Thistlewhite shoots in.

Baroni fails to land with a series of punches.
Thistlewhite drops down looking for a counter takedown but Baroni sprawls and moves away.
Thistlewhite takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Thistlewhite is rocked!
Baroni dances in with a quick combination. Thistlewhite is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Baroni snaps Thistlewhite's head back. Thistlewhite stumbles backwards against the cage. Baroni steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Thistlewhite's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Thistlewhite just didn't come prepared.
