Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ousmane Onyedikachi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryu Takemura!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onyedikachi throws a lazy head kick
and Takemura counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nice uppercut lands for Takemura. That snapped Onyedikachi's head back.
Good shot there by Takemura.
Takemura's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Takemura duly obliges.
Takemura throws the left hand but Onyedikachi avoids the punch easily.
Takemura looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Onyedikachi darts in trying to clinch
and Takemura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Takemura ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Onyedikachi looks to clinch
and Takemura counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Onyedikachi tries to close the distance and clinch but Takemura swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ousmane Onyedikachi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takemura misses with a straight left.
Onyedikachi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Takemura cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Onyedikachi slips under a jab from Takemura.
It looked like Onyedikachi was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Takemura avoids the head kick by Onyedikachi.
A nice combination there by Takemura.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Onyedikachi misses with a double jab
and Takemura counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Onyedikachi throws a head kick but Takemura moves out of range.
Takemura connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A cross from Takemura lands.
Takemura lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Onyedikachi looks to clinch
and Takemura counters with a nice uppercut.


Onyedikachi is rocked!
Takemura connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Onyedikachi momentarily.
Oh Onyedikachi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Takemura connects with a quick right hand that sends Onyedikachi tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Ryu Takemura!
Ryu Takemura took some time post fight to say the following; 'I'd kill him if the referee let me..'.
