Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between William Dewey (ranked 4520 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Blye (ranked 2963 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Dewey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lucas Blye! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Blye or perhaps it was just good defense by Dewey, which made it look bad. A decent looking cross lands there for Dewey. Nice defenses there by Blye. Dewey looks to throw the jab but Blye is out of range. Dewey thuds a left hand into Blye's body. Dewey keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blye tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dewey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. William Dewey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Blye shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dewey misses with a lunging right hand
and Blye connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blye on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Dewey dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Dewey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Blye.
Dewey ducks under a wild hook from Blye. Dewey shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Dewey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dewey keeping full guard, as Blye tries to pass. Dewey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Blye is controlling him. Blye wants to control from the top but Dewey keeps moving. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Blye passes Dewey's left leg - he's now in half guard. Dewey avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Blye. Dewey kicks Blye off and gets back to his feet. Blye takes a jab right on the kisser.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dewey lands with a nice body punch. Dewey moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Dewey throws a leg kick that is checked and Blye counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Blye walks into a straight right hand from Dewey. Blye has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Dewey with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Dewey looks to throw the jab but Blye is out of range. Blye changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dewey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dewey bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dewey lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Blye at a distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blye fails miserably with a takedown attempt. William Dewey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Blye. Dewey lands with a thumping leg kick.
Dewey throws a right and a left that both miss. Blye throws out a counter right but Dewey avoids it with no problem. Dewey misses with a double jab
and Blye counters with a one-two to the body. Blye keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

William Dewey dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dewey thows a left - swing and a miss! Dewey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dewey wants it to stay on the feet. Dewey throws a quick counter head kick but Blye was just out of range. Dewey throws a big shot that misses. Nice takedown defense from Dewey. No joy for Blye on that attempt. enabling Blye to counter with a crisp jab. Dewey connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. No luck for Blye with that takedown attempt. William Dewey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Blye. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dewey turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Blye tries a quick counter leg kick but Dewey is wise to it. Dewey scores with a shot to the body.
Blye will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Blye gets tackled into the cage by Dewey. Dewey maintains the clinch. Blye has picked Dewey up - he's going for a ride! Blye dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Blye misses with a head shot. Dewey uses the momentum to regain guard. Dewey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blye can do to turn this around? Dewey preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dewey wants to improve his position but instead Blye has moved into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blye seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Blye wants to work for an arm triangle but Dewey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blye stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dewey swivels though and keeps the full guard. Dewey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blye is one step ahead there. Lucas Blye has got the better of the ground game so far. Blye scoring with punches to the head and body. Blye throws a big elbow that misses. Blye throws a strike but Dewey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Dewey pushing down on Blye's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Blye makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Blye.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blye working a defensive guard but Dewey manages to pass into side control anyway.
Dewey slows the pace down. Blye holding on. Blye can't do much from the bottom here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dewey decides to stand back up. Dewey steps back and let's Blye get back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
William Dewey dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Dewey dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Blye. That did some damage! William Dewey is winning the standup battle so far. Blye gets the takedown into side control. Dewey sneaks out the side door and pushes Blye away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Dewey scores with a jab to the jaw. Blye takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blye takes a shot right to the bread basket. Blye fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dewey, pushing him back against the cage. Blye prevents a body shot from Dewey. A short right hand to the side of the head by Blye. Dewey throws a head punch that misses.

Dewey tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Blye's elbow. Dewey lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Dewey can't find room to land a body shot as Blye controls the action.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Dewey wants to stand up but Blye is controlling him. Blye connects with a couple of short punches. Blye postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dewey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Blye, into his guard. Dewey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blye swivels though and keeps the full guard. Blye is trying to keep Dewey in close.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blye prevents Dewey from improving position. Dewey working away. You can see the frustration on Blye's face as Dewey controls the position. Blye is not content to let Dewey control the position. You can see the frustration on Blye's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Dewey controls the position from side control. Lucas Blye has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We've been hearing good reports from Dewey's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. You can see the frustration on Blye's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Blye is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dewey has just dragged him back down to the mat. Blye is looking for a sweep. Dewey is staying tight to Blye's torso, preventing him from escaping. Dewey tries for a kimura but Blye is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Blye throws a couple of strikes there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
And that's the end of the fight! William Dewey showed his dominance in that final round. Well Dewey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
