Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ervin Castillo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jesper Rush!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Castillo catches Rush napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Rush to the canvas!


Rush is rocked!

Castillo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rush is still on wobbly legs! Can Castillo finish him?

Rush throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rush looking to control.
Rush seems to have recovered his senses.
Rush working a defensive guard but Castillo manages to pass into side control anyway.
Rush sneaks back into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rush slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Rush wants to sweep here but Castillo controlling him for the moment.
Rush seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Castillo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rush is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rush looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castillo is one step ahead there.
Castillo tries to free his leg and advance position but Rush is retaining full guard.
Rush tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rush looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Castillo passes into side control.
You can see the frustration on Rush's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rush looks gassed!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rush is looking to regain half guard here but Castillo keeps moving and retains side control.
Rush is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Rush can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rush moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


Rush is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Castillo cracks Rush with a hook to the temple - Rush is on wobbly legs here! Castillo swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Rush falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Castillo wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Ervin Castillo!
