Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sameh Mahmoud (ranked 63 p4p, 11 weight class) and Junkyard Dog (ranked 169 p4p, 26 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sameh Mahmoud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Junkyard Dog!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mahmoud throws a poor cross that misses

and Dog decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mahmoud's guard.
Dog stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mahmoud swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dog throws a big elbow that misses.

Mahmoud working for a triangle but Dog defends it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dog throws a strike but Mahmoud rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mahmoud content to stall in guard here.

Dog working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mahmoud doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mahmoud manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dog looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mahmoud is one step ahead there.

Dog looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dog tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dog keeps trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mahmoud wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dog keeps working.
Dog wants to control but Mahmoud postures up.
Dog is looking to reverse the position.
Dog is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mahmoud controlling the position from side mount.
Dog is trying to get back to half guard.
Dog gets back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dog has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mahmoud is working away from the top position though.

Mahmoud definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Dog has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Mahmoud escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Mahmoud!

Dog sneaks back into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dog has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Mahmoud. Oh but Dog has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Mahmoud goes limp - he's gone! Dog jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Junkyard Dog!
During a confident post fight interview, Junkyard Dog thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
