Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between OJ Pines (ranked 2507 p4p, 293 weight class) and Arthur Shelby (ranked 6318 p4p, 519 weight class). Shelby has chosen Peeky Blinder Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Arthur Shelby! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Illya Tyunina and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pines changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shelby looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Pines working the head and body with strikes. Pines scores with punches from side control. Pines working the ground and pound. Pines working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shelby is pushing Pines's head away, looking to escape. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shelby with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pines winds up and cracks Shelby with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Shelby landing small, sideways elbows.

Shelby is rocked! Pines lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Shelby is still in real trouble! Can Pines finish him? That's two minutes gone in the round. Ground and pound from Pines. Pines seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Pines lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pines working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Pines seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Shelby is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). OJ Pines! OJ Pines was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
