Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Odis Hancock (ranked 23962 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yasunobu Kashiwabara (ranked 4280 p4p, 0 weight class). Yasunobu Kashiwabara will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Odis Hancock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yasunobu Kashiwabara!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kashiwabara drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hancock keeping moving, preventing Kashiwabara from controlling successfully.
Kashiwabara working some strikes from top position.
Kashiwabara wants to stand but Hancock is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kashiwabara is looking to pass into half guard but Hancock pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hancock is in guard.

Kashiwabara wants to get back to his feet but Hancock is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hancock thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kashiwabara controls Hancock momentarily but Hancock frees himself.
Kashiwabara is looking to stand up but Hancock isn't so interested in that idea.

Kashiwabara scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kashiwabara tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hancock gets caught napping as Kashiwabara dives in and scores a takedown. Hancock manages to retain guard.
Hancock trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Hancock looking for a guillotine here but Kashiwabara defends easily.
Kashiwabara stands up out of Hancock's guard for a moment - Hancock manages to land a nice upkick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hancock keeping moving, preventing Kashiwabara from controlling successfully.
Hancock trying to strike off his back.
Kashiwabara trying to control but Hancock is working from the bottom.

Kashiwabara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hancock has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kashiwabara has managed to get both his arms back between Hancock's legs - danger averted.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hancock pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kashiwabara closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hancock quickly recovers to half guard.

Kashiwabara wants to work for an arm triangle but Hancock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kashiwabara is looking for a kimura but Hancock is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kashiwabara to get the leverage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hancock tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kashiwabara is looking to take a break and control but Hancock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hancock tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Kashiwabara not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kashiwabara wants to advance to full mount but Hancock doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Kashiwabara throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Hancock throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kashiwabara missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kashiwabara gets a double leg takedown into Hancock's guard.
Kashiwabara in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hancock throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Hancock striking off his back but it's not causing Kashiwabara any problems.
Hancock lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Kashiwabara is looking to work some ground and pound but Hancock has wrist control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kashiwabara with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Kashiwabara wants to pass the guard but Hancock is keeping the position.
Hancock keeping moving, preventing Kashiwabara from controlling successfully.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yasunobu Kashiwabara dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Kashiwabara shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kashiwabara not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hancock punching from the bottom.
Kashiwabara is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hancock!
Hancock throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

Hancock is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Kashiwabara raining down hammerfists from mount.

Kashiwabara can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hancock is looking to escape.
Kashiwabara thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Hancock in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Kashiwabara lands a nice shot to the head.


Hancock is rocked!
Kashiwabara has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kashiwabara looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Hancock covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yasunobu Kashiwabara!
