Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Efremov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Valenzuela to the ground. Efremov is now in Valenzuela's guard.
Efremov throws a big elbow that misses.
Efremov drops back looking for a leg! Valenzuela is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valenzuela manages to kick Efremov off! Efremov jumps back into Valenzuela's guard.
Valenzuela really is a fat lump.
Efremov trying to control the position from guard on top but Valenzuela is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Efremov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Valenzuela controls Efremov momentarily but Efremov frees himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Efremov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Efremov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Valenzuela is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Valenzuela is on top in guard.

Valenzuela tries to stand but Efremov is controlling from the bottom.
Efremov is looking to cinch up a triangle. Valenzuela throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Efremov's body to avoid the submission. Efremov has instead reached around Valenzuela's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Efremov arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Victor Efremov!
