Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Nurmy (ranked 2470 p4p, 263 weight class) and Chief Navajo (ranked 1833 p4p, 201 weight class). Abdul Nurmy had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abdul Nurmy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Navajo! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nurmy throws a series of punches but Navajo moves out of range. Navajo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nurmy as he avoids it easily. Nurmy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Navajo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Navajo tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Navajo shoots in for a double leg but Nurmy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nurmy darts in and clinches Navajo up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nurmy prevents the takedown attempt.
Abdul Nurmy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chief Navajo. Navajo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nurmy fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Nurmy wants to clinch but Navajo slips to the side and Navajo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Nurmy won't be happy with that. Navajo lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Nurmy down.
