Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Denzel Arcidiacono!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arcidiacono slaps away a takedown attempt from Stevens, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Arcidiacono ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Arcidiacono shoots for a takedown but Stevens saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Denzel Arcidiacono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stevens leaves Arcidiacono with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Arcidiacono misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Joe Stevens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Denzel Arcidiacono.
Stevens takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Stevens slaps away a takedown attempt from Arcidiacono, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stevens shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Arcidiacono pinned against the cage. Arcidiacono gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arcidiacono throws a low kick, looking for Stevens's leg but Stevens calmly moves out of range.
Arcidiacono tries to clinch but Stevens is having none of it.

Stevens shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Arcidiacono is trying to defend but Stevens finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Arcidiacono tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Arcidiacono is defending against the submission attempts here by Stevens.
Stevens trying to control the action but Arcidiacono is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stevens in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Arcidiacono tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Stevens!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joe Stevens!
A less than humble Joe Stevens misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
