Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ander Silva (ranked 2077 p4p, 248 weight class) and Danny Seagram (ranked 1636 p4p, 205 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Nice straight punches there by Seagram. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Seagram.
Silva has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Seagram throws a quick inside leg kick.
Seagram looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Seagram swivels and escapes.
A solid leg kick lands there for Seagram.

Seagram throws a lazy right hand but Silva sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Seagram is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control.

Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Seagram defends well.
Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Seagram manages to get himself to full guard.

Silva wants to control from the top but Seagram keeps moving.
Seagram lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Seagram seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Good leg kick by Seagram there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva drops his hands momentarily. Seagram doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Silva staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Silva doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
