Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Kravac (ranked 1923 p4p, 239 weight class) and Dr A Hedgeh (ranked 1616 p4p, 207 weight class). Hedgeh has chosen Dr Who? as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Kravac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dr A Hedgeh! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hedgeh keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hedgeh shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kravac manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hedgeh is looking to work some ground and pound but Kravac has wrist control. Kravac is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kravac is nestled in close to Hedgeh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Kravac is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hedgeh doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kravac. Kravac is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kravac looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've been hearing that Kravac has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Hedgeh tries to roll over but Kravac keeps him under control. Kravac prevents Hedgeh from standing back up.
Kravac looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hedgeh with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Kravac seems to be working for a kimura but Hedgeh defends the submission attempt. Hedgeh trying to hold on to Kravac's head to control him but Kravac postures up.
Kravac is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kravac landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kravac wants to free his trapped foot but Hedgeh is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kravac is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kravac sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hedgeh defending well though. Hedgeh felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Kravac has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kravac is looking for a kimura here.
Hedgeh slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Hedgeh wants to get back to his feet but Kravac is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kravac drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hedgeh manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kravac has Hedgeh in his guard. Kravac looking for a sweep. Not yet Kravac, not yet. Hedgeh is looking to work some ground and pound but Kravac has wrist control. Kravac manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hedgeh manages to get himself to full guard.
Kravac stands and throws Hedgeh's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kravac tries for a kimura but Hedgeh is defending well. Kravac goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hedgeh has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kravac but great work by Hedgeh. Kravac takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hedgeh works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hedgeh tries for a kimura but Kravac is defending well. Hedgeh connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Kravac some visible discomfort.
This has been an exciting period of action! Kravac is trying to control Hedgeh's posture but Hedgeh avoids it. Hedgeh throwing strikes but Kravac manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Kravac is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hedgeh knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kravac lands some shots froms side control. Hedgeh is looking to reverse the position. Hedgeh takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Kravac is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hedgeh is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kravac is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Hedgeh has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Hedgeh!
