Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerrell Goodman (ranked 6420 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatak Marines (ranked 6459 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jerrell Goodman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tatak Marines!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jorge Garcia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Goodman forces Marines back against the cage and clinches.
Marines taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Goodman blocks a body shot from Marines.
Goodman is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Marines is defending well.
Marines leaning against his opponent.

Marines breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Goodman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Goodman looking for a sweep. Not yet Goodman, not yet.
Marines really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goodman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Goodman holds on and takes a little breather.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Marines seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Goodman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Marines closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Goodman did well to prevent Marines getting side control.

Marines avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Marines is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Goodman with a body shot.

Goodman tries to clinch but Marines moves out of range.

Goodman drives through and clinches with Marines against the cage.
Goodman prevents a body shot from Marines.
Goodman can't get the takedown.
Goodman is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Marines gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Marines presses Goodman against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Marines breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Goodman moves to clinch but Marines breaks away
and Marines counters with a straight right hand.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Marines blocks a head kick by Goodman.
Marines doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tatak Marines dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Marines shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Goodman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Marines wants to get up but he can't break Goodman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Goodman wants to hit a switch here but Marines passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Goodman there!

Goodman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Goodman regains half guard.
Goodman trying to control but Marines postures up.
Goodman really is a fat lump.
Goodman wants to improve his position but Marines is controlling well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Goodman throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Tatak Marines has got the better of the ground game so far.
Goodman is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Marines jumps into side control!
Goodman is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Goodman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Marines stands up and beckons Goodman to his feet.

Marines dives in and scores a takedown into Goodman's guard.
Marines is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Goodman is working an open guard so Marines takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jerrell Goodman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Marines drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Goodman tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marines wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Marines stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Marines closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Marines lands in his opponent's guard.

Marines postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Goodman has a closed guard, preventing Marines from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tatak Marines showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Goodman throws a lazy head kick
and Marines counters with a nice body shot.
Goodman misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A countering left hand to the body from Marines misses.
Goodman tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Goodman wants to clinch but Marines slips to the side
and Marines counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Goodman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Goodman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Marines is standing up over Goodman. Goodman looks to escape but Marines dives into side control.


Marines decides to stand back up. Marines steps back and let's Goodman get back to his feet.

Marines shoots in and gets a takedown into Goodman's guard.

Marines with a flurry of punches that miss.
Marines preventing the sweep.
Goodman trying to control the position.
Marines is looking to stand up but Goodman won't let him.
Marines is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Marines trying to control the position from guard on top but Goodman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Goodman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Marines to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Marines controlling from the top position.
Marines must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Goodman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Marines stands up and waves to Goodman to follow him.
Goodman doesn't manage to clinch there - Marines circles away.
Tatak Marines is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Goodman forces Marines back against the cage and clinches.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Marines has clasped his hands together around Goodman's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Goodman throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

And that's the end of the fight!
Jerrell Goodman showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Marines has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
