PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Batts (ranked 1127 p4p, 152 weight class) and Mason Marshall (ranked 1433 p4p, 184 weight class). Batts kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Midnight City - By: M83. Marshall has chosen Step Into A World - by: KRS-One as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Batts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mason Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batts tries a head kick but it misses.

Marshall's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Batts connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Marshall scrambles back to his feet.

Batts is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marshall.
Marshall steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Batts.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Marshall! But no joy.
Marshall's coach down at Doom's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Marshall's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A close round but Mason Marshall will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Batts throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Marshall on the side of the head.
