Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Galkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Whitewash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Whitewash's choice of entrance music: New Divide. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Billy Whitewash was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Billy Whitewash! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Galkin tries to clinch up but Whitewash circles away and keeps his distance. Galkin drives through with a takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Whitewash is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Galkin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Galkin tries to get out of the position. Whitewash slips a nice elbow through Galkin's hands, connecting with Galkin's forehead. Whitewash is nestled in close to Galkin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Galkin wants to get back to his feet. Whitewash not landing any meaningful shots this time. Whitewash wants to work for an arm triangle but Galkin is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Galkin tries to kick Whitewash off but Whitewash keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Galkin is defending against the submission attempts here by Whitewash.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Galkin goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Whitewash doesn't succeed with the takedown and Galkin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Galkin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Galkin for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Whitewash tries to pull guard but Galkin holds him up against the cage and eventually Whitewash drops back down to his feet.

Galkin motions for Whitewash to come forward. Galkin throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Galkin closes the distance and pushes Whitewash back into the cage. Galkin slows down the pace here.
Galkin lands a left hand that snaps the head of Whitewash backwards. Galkin gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Whitewash has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Galkin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Galkin effectively controlling the action here. Whitewash gets control of Galkin's arms and successfully pulls guard. Whitewash will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Whitewash is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Whitewash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Galkin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Whitewash looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Galkin passes into half guard.

Whitewash looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Whitewash is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Galkin pulls his head out easily. Galkin wants to control but Whitewash is keeping him busy. Whitewash moves into full guard.
Whitewash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Galkin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Galkin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Whitewash is proving hard to escape from. Whitewash has an active guard here but Galkin has managed to pass into half guard.
Billy Whitewash has got the better of the ground game so far. Galkin controlling the action here. Galkin wants to stand but Whitewash has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Maxim Galkin will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Galkin pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Whitewash tumbling to the mat - Galkin dives into Whitewash's guard. Galkin sitting in guard here, content to control. Galkin won't allow Whitewash to sweep him here. Whitewash doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Whitewash landing strikes from the bottom. Whitewash tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Whitewash actively working from the bottom here. Galkin is taking a breather. Whitewash says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Whitewash blocking the ground and pound attempt from Galkin. Whitewash regains full guard. Nicely done. Whitewash looking for a triangle here. Galkin is fighting it but it looks tight! Whitewash pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Galkin is tapping out - this one is all over!
