PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michel Colucci (ranked 1768 p4p, 222 weight class) and Nils Ragnaar (ranked 2997 p4p, 343 weight class). Colucci comes to the cage accompanied by Le temps des cerises. Ragnaar has chosen Mustasch - The Wave as his entrance music. Nils Ragnaar will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michel Colucci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nils Ragnaar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, John Mangel and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Colucci is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ragnaar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Colucci is defended easily by Ragnaar.
Ragnaar is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Ragnaar swings wildly with an uppercut but Colucci uses good head movement to avoid it.

Colucci shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ragnaar sprawls well. Ragnaar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Colucci gets slowly back to his feet.

Ragnaar feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Colucci's calf.

Ragnaar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Colucci.

You can see the frustration on Ragnaar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We've been hearing good reports from Colucci's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well Ragnaar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
