0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Artur Vidal! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vidal has managed to clinch.
Douglas fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Douglas connects with a knee to the head.
Douglas is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Vidal is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Douglas to keep the fight standing. Vidal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Vidal lands with a short head shot on the inside. A left hand lands to the body for Vidal.
Vidal is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Douglas is defending well for now. Douglas keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Vidal's efforts to push away. Douglas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Vidal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Douglas looks to score with a jab to the body but Vidal is just out of range. Vidal drives through and clinches with Douglas against the cage.

Vidal manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Douglas wants to stand but Vidal is controlling his posture from full guard. Vidal wants to stand but Douglas is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vidal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Douglas defends well.

Douglas passes easily into side control. Nice work. Douglas creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Douglas is putting a hurting on Vidal here, landing some big shots from side control. Vidal throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Vidal reaches up around Douglas's neck trying to control. But Douglas takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Vidal! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Vidal is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Douglas celebrates the victory with the fans!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Doug Douglas! In his post fight interview, Doug Douglas gave a big smile as he said 'I'm the Dougernaut Bitch!'.
