Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akoni Gray (ranked 12 p4p, 3 weight class) and Koba Wyatt (ranked 578 p4p, 83 weight class). Wyatt has chosen Channel Zero as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Akoni Gray!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Koba Wyatt!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gray tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wyatt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gray on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Wyatt throws a shot from downtown. Gray moves away and avoids it.
Gray uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wyatt.
Wyatt throws the left hand but Gray avoids the punch easily.
Wyatt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gray moves away.
Gray swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Gray pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wyatt avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A nice side step and Wyatt releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gray needs to keep his hands up - Wyatt had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Akoni Gray has been cut.
Gray moves out of range of the leg kick from Wyatt.
Wyatt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A jab from Gray finds it's way through Wyatt's defenses.

A little jabbing left from Wyatt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Gray misses with a straight left.
Gray throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wyatt stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Gray looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wyatt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gray moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gray fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wyatt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wyatt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wyatt throws a front kick aimed at Gray's knee but Gray avoids it well.
Akoni Gray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gray moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Wyatt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Wyatt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gray feints and then cracks Wyatt's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wyatt down.
Wyatt throws a right and a left that Gray avoids nicely.

Wyatt throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wyatt is trying to push Gray away but Gray has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Gray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wyatt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gray.

Wyatt appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Wyatt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gray walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wyatt checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Wyatt takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gray misses with a looping left.
Gray backing away here, and Wyatt unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Gray lands a nice hook to Wyatt's body. Wyatt takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gray throws a shot from downtown. Wyatt moves away and avoids it.
Gray pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wyatt appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Wyatt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gray.

Gray fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Wyatt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gray here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Gray lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Wyatt shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Gray sends Wyatt crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Gray is motioning to the referee to let Wyatt up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Wyatt has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Gray drops Wyatt with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Wyatt looks back up at him and smiles so Gray waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Gray counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
