Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emanuel Rodrigez (ranked 1056 p4p, 131 weight class) and Jao Rua (ranked 685 p4p, 89 weight class). Rua has chosen Tarantula as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rua, pushing him back against the cage.
Rua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Emanuel Rodrigez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua slaps away a takedown attempt from Rodrigez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rodrigez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rodrigez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rodrigez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rua swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rodrigez walks into a left hand.
Rodrigez pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rua looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Rodrigez has his takedown stuffed
and Rua counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodrigez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Rua lands a nice looking body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick misses from Rodrigez.
A little jabbing left from Rua on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Rua looks to land a right hand but Rodrigez moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodrigez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rodrigez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rua paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've been informed that Rua has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rodrigez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Rua manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nice straight punches there by Rua. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rua.
Rodrigez tries to clinch up but Rua circles away and keeps his distance.
Rua jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rodrigez darts in trying to clinch
and Rua counters with a nice right hand that sends Rodrigez toppling to the canvas! Rodrigez scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Rua finish him?!
Rodrigez is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rua fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Rodrigez out cold! Brutal finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Jao Rua!
Jao Rua decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
