Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Desmond Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Wolfgang Schneeweiss! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneeweiss is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Schneeweiss or perhaps it was just good defense by Lewis, which made it look bad. Lewis throws a big counter combination but Schneeweiss scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Schneeweiss is looking to clinch. Schneeweiss looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lewis throws a head kick but Schneeweiss moves out of range.
Schneeweiss throws a right and a left that Lewis avoids nicely. Schneeweiss has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Lewis is landing a low percentage of strikes. Schneeweiss looks winded! Lewis shoots in for a takedown but Schneeweiss shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lewis lands a high kick!
It looks like Wolfgang Schneeweiss has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schneeweiss clinches up with Lewis and pushes him back against the cage. Lewis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Schneeweiss's efforts to push away. Lewis jumps guard but Schneeweiss stands there with Lewis around his waist. Lewis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Lewis clinches up against the cage. Schneeweiss manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Lewis wants to control from the top but Schneeweiss keeps moving. Lewis drops back looking for a leg! Schneeweiss is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Schneeweiss manages to kick Lewis off! Lewis jumps back into Schneeweiss's guard. Lewis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Schneeweiss on the ground. Schneeweiss trying to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis tries to free his leg and advance position but Schneeweiss is retaining full guard. Schneeweiss is trying to keep Lewis in close.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Schneeweiss looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lewis is one step ahead there.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Schneeweiss displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lewis. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desmond Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis fails with a takedown attempt. Lewis drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lewis wants to stand but Schneeweiss is controlling his arm. Lewis trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Schneeweiss is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Schneeweiss is trying to control Lewis's posture but Lewis avoids it. Lewis throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lewis is looking to take a break and control but Schneeweiss is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lewis moves in looking to clinch but Schneeweiss pushes him off. Schneeweiss changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schneeweiss sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Desmond Lewis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Wolfgang Schneeweiss's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Lewis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lewis shoots for a double leg takedown but Schneeweiss sprawls well. He's pushed Lewis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Schneeweiss fails in his attempt to clinch. Schneeweiss drives through and clinches with Lewis against the cage.

Schneeweiss is trying to drag Lewis to the mat but Lewis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Lewis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Schneeweiss is breathing heavily.

Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch but Schneeweiss swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice sprawl there from Schneeweiss as Lewis shoots in. Lewis closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Schneeweiss did well to prevent Lewis getting side control. Lewis is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Lewis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Schneeweiss does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Schneeweiss keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lewis is looking for a kimura but Schneeweiss is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lewis to get the leverage. Schneeweiss is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Schneeweiss is trying to control but Lewis manages to pass to mount!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lewis wants to take his opponent's back but Schneeweiss doesn't allow it. Lewis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Schneeweiss is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Schneeweiss and Lewis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Lewis wants to stand but Schneeweiss is controlling his arm. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lewis in side control, just content to control the action for now.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lewis shoots in looking for a takedown. Schneeweiss tries to sprawl out of it but Lewis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schneeweiss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lewis moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromSchneeweiss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Schneeweiss wants to clinch up but Lewis keeps it at a distance. As Schneeweiss looks to move away, Lewis throws a big counter combo but Schneeweiss just gets out of the way. Lewis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Lewis is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Lewis is looking to stall here but Schneeweiss recovers full guard. Schneeweiss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lewis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lewis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Desmond Lewis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Schneeweiss takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but Schneeweiss is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lewis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lewis tries to stand but Schneeweiss is controlling from the bottom. Lewis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Schneeweiss has a closed guard, preventing Lewis from standing up.

Lewis is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Schneeweiss to keep the fight standing. Schneeweiss looking to stall.
Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Schneeweiss shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lewis as he avoids it easily. Schneeweiss shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lewis but Lewis pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lewis was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Lewis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lewis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Schneeweiss can do to turn this around? Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lewis feints a jab promting Schneeweiss to slip. Lewis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Schneeweiss slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Lewis shoots for a takedown but Schneeweiss saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Desmond Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lewis. Lewis tries a head kick but it misses.
Lewis dives in for a single leg takedown but Schneeweiss sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Lewis stuffs the takedown attempt from Schneeweiss. Schneeweiss gets slowly back to his feet. Lewis tried to counter with a leg kick but Schneeweiss avoided it. Lewis shoots in but Schneeweiss avoids the takedown attempt easily. Lewis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis keeps control of Schneeweiss as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lewis is working for takedown but Schneeweiss is calmly controlling the position for now. Lewis is defending well against a takedown attempt. Lewis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schneeweiss takes a kick to the side of the head. Lewis punishes Schneeweiss's body with a nice straight punch. Schneeweiss stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schneeweiss wants it to stay on the feet. Lewis goes for a double leg but Schneeweiss avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Schneeweiss continues to drive forward. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lewis fails with the takedown.
And that's the end of the fight! Desmond Lewis showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lewis has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
