Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danny Hooper! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson throws a looping overhand right but Hooper ducks down to avoid it. Hooper is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Hooper shoots in but no luck this time. Hooper moves in looking to clinch but Anderson pushes him off. Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hooper shoots in for a takedown but Anderson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Anderson gets a double leg takedown into Hooper's guard. Anderson looking to pass the guard. Anderson throws an elbow that misses. Hooper uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Anderson's guard. Nice move by Hooper!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson wants to get back to his feet but Hooper is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Anderson is looking for a triangle but Hooper pushes his legs off easily.
Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson looking for a guillotine here but Hooper defends easily.
Anderson pulls Hooper in close to his closed guard and prevents Hooper from doing any damage or advancing position. Anderson looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Anderson keeping moving, preventing Hooper from controlling successfully. Anderson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hooper stacks Anderson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hooper!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Hooper trying to control the action but Anderson is working from the bottom. Anderson can't do much from the bottom here. Anderson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Anderson keeping hold of Hooper's head, controlling as best he can. Hooper not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson has his hands clasped together around Hooper's back. He's all about the action. Anderson is not content to let Hooper control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Anderson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hooper quickly recovers to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hooper is looking to improve his position.
Hooper is still trying to improve position. Anderson slows the pace down in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Anderson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hooper blocks a jab. Hooper shoots in looking for a takedown but Anderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hooper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hooper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Anderson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Hooper! Anderson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hooper can do to turn this around? Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Hooper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Anderson takes a little break here. Hooper wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hooper gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hooper tries to hold on but Anderson postures up. Anderson landing shots from mount. Anderson controlling his opponent. Anderson is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Hooper tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it. Tony Anderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hooper. A punch combination from Anderson misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hooper shoots in looking for a takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl out of it but Hooper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anderson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tony Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Hooper. Anderson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hooper to the ground. Anderson is now in Hooper's guard. Anderson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hooper is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson advances position into side control! Anderson has knee on belly and moves into mount. Hooper tries to hold on but Anderson postures up. Anderson controlling the pace for now. Anderson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hooper takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Anderson controlling from the full mount. Hooper is working to get back to half guard.
Anderson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hooper to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hooper shrugs it off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Anderson controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Anderson dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Hooper tries to clinch up but Anderson circles away and keeps his distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hooper. Anderson went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hooper gets caught napping as Anderson dives in and scores a takedown. Hooper manages to retain guard. Anderson content to stall in guard here. Anderson lands a couple of elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson passes Hooper's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hooper punching from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Anderson uses his free foot to push down on Hooper's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hooper. Anderson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Anderson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hooper is looking to escape. Anderson controlling from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Anderson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Anderson lands a heavy elbow. Anderson controlling the pace for now. Hooper in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Hooper wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson trying to control but Hooper is having none of it. Anderson controlling from mount. Anderson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Anderson controlling his opponent. Anderson landing strikes from the mount and Hooper is in trouble! Hooper flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson controlling his opponent. Anderson looking to control but Hooper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Anderson controlling from mount. Hooper is squirming around, avoiding Anderson's attempts to control the action. A nice elbow there by Anderson. Danny Hooper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tony Anderson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Tony Anderson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Anderson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
