Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyron Woody (ranked 384 p4p, 56 weight class) and Candy Van (ranked 1235 p4p, 154 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyron Woody! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Candy Van! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Woody to score an easy takedown into full guard. We've been hearing good reports from Woody's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Woody wants to pass the guard but Van is keeping the position. Woody sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Van's guard. Woody seems to be looking for submissions.

Woody is thwarting Van's attempts to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Woody is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Van sees it coming and defends easily.

Van looking for submissions off his back. Woody is looking for a kimura but Van is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Woody to get the leverage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Woody is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Van defends it well. Van looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Van wants to control but Woody is keeping busy.
Woody passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Van! Van is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Woody is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Van to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Van shrugs it off. Woody moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Van has worked his arm free - good work by Van!

Woody throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Van on the side of the head. Van takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Woody throws a hook but Van avoids it easily. Van slips under a jab from Woody. Woody throws out a loose jab but Van uses good head movement to avoid it. Van throws out a counter right but Woody avoids it with no problem. Woody pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Van steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Woody. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Van misses the target. Woody lands a lovely overhand right. Woody forces Van back against the cage and clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Nice body punch from Van. Van tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Woody avoids it. Woody tries to work over Van's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Van landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Woody struggles to land a body shot inside as Van controls his hands.
Van throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Woody blocks it with crossed arms. Van works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Woody looking for a guillotine here but Van defends easily.
Van won't allow Woody to sweep him here. Woody manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Van manages to get himself to full guard.
Woody tries to free his leg and advance position but Van is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woody avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Van looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Van looking for a guillotine here but Woody defends easily.
Woody stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Van swivels though and keeps the full guard. Woody sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Van's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Van actively working from the bottom here.

Woody looks to land a left hand but Van moved out of range nicely. Van throws out a counter right but Woody avoids it with no problem. Woody lands a really nice looking cross but Van seems unphased.
Woody is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Van can do to turn this around? Woody drops Van with a huge uppercut! Van drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Woody is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
