Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Manny Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce White Jr! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! White Jr swings for the body but Perez moves out of range.
Perez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but White Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from Perez. White Jr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Perez defends well and White Jr ends up having to push Perez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Perez misses with a straight right. Perez throws a right and a left that White Jr avoids nicely. White Jr looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Perez is looking to stand back up but White Jr counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Perez. Perez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Perez is trying to stand.
Perez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. White Jr prevents Perez from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. White Jr trying to pass the guard but Perez defending well. White Jr is nestled in close to Perez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Perez pushes White Jr off looking to stand but White Jr dives back in and keeps control.
White Jr is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. White Jr landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. White Jr prevents Perez from standing back up.

White Jr controlling from the full mount. Perez is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. White Jr pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Perez is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
