Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, YB Sol Brotha! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rhymin Slayin! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sol Brotha with a lazy takedown attempt and Slayin counters with a nice body shot. Sol Brotha fails with the takedown and Slayin counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like YB Sol Brotha has been cut. Sol Brotha looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for YB Sol Brotha. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sol Brotha looks to land a left hand but Slayin moved out of range nicely. Sol Brotha shoots in and bounces Slayin off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. Slayin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slayin wants to stand but Sol Brotha is controlling the position. Slayin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sol Brotha trying to control the position from guard on top but Slayin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sol Brotha's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Slayin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sol Brotha. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sol Brotha content to stall in guard here. Sol Brotha works over Slayin with some ground and pound from guard. Sol Brotha throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Sol Brotha controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Sol Brotha trying to control but Slayin is working from the bottom. Sol Brotha prevents Slayin from getting back to his feet. Sol Brotha landing some decent shots from guard. Sol Brotha prevents Slayin from getting back to his feet. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sol Brotha slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Sol Brotha throws a big right hand that misses. Sol Brotha throws a big elbow that misses. Sol Brotha passes Slayin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sol Brotha seems to be working for a kimura but Slayin defends the submission attempt. Slayin is trying to stand.
Sol Brotha not landing any meaningful shots this time. Slayin wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sol Brotha connects with a nice short shot to Slayin's temple. Sol Brotha wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slayin keeps working. Slayin is trying to stand.
Sol Brotha slips a nice elbow through Slayin's hands, connecting with Slayin's forehead. Sol Brotha scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Sol Brotha trying to mount his opponent but Slayin defends it. Slayin is refusing to be controlled, as Sol Brotha sits in half guard. Slayin pushes Sol Brotha off looking to stand but Sol Brotha dives back in and keeps control.
Sol Brotha is stalling here. Slayin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sol Brotha seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Slayin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Slayin tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Sol Brotha is trying to control Slayin's posture but Slayin avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Slayin tries to stand but Sol Brotha is controlling his head. Sol Brotha is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Slayin off and has taken his back! Sol Brotha is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Slayin has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Sol Brotha has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Slayin taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Sol Brotha doesn't care though - he's delighted!
