Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hen Nessy (ranked 889 p4p, 108 weight class) and Andy Shifter (ranked 983 p4p, 124 weight class). Shifter has chosen Lützenkirchen- Nutcracker as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hen Nessy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Shifter!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nessy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shifter tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Nessy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shifter drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Nessy defends it well.
Nessy throws a body shot but no joy.
Nessy tries to clinch but Shifter moves away
and Shifter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shifter.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Nessy holds on and takes a little breather.
Shifter drops back looking for a leg! Nessy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nessy manages to kick Shifter off! Shifter jumps back into Nessy's guard.
Nessy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Nessy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shifter drops back looking for a leg! Nessy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nessy manages to kick Shifter off! Shifter jumps back into Nessy's guard.
Nessy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nessy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shifter gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Shifter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Shifter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Nessy dives on top into guard.
Nessy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shifter is keeping the position for now.
Shifter keeping moving, preventing Nessy from controlling successfully.
Shifter working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nessy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Shifter is tightening it up a little... Nessy has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Nessy reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Nessy taps out! Nice BJJ there by Shifter!
